I don't know why any of us has to have a near death experience to chill the eff out -- it doesn't have to be that way, does it? A popping of this bubble will increase borrowing rates for governments/business/consumers, depress home prices, make mortgages more expensive, and basically act like kryptonite to any "recovery" in the world economy. Many of us really practice this in our lives? I'm talking How much energy do we burn agonizing and worrying about things we can't control or that simply don't matter in the big picture? You don't do an action sequence for the sake of doing a damn action sequence — you do an action sequence because it's a new or more effective way to advance your character or story. I guess almost dying and having an unknown prognosis gives you some sort of pass. I completely understand why you act the way you do, but I say 'I don't understand' because I'd rather not have to go through every detail. It's simpler when you are complicated. If you can identify the right endgame and position yourself for it patiently, the messy volatility along the way really won't mean much in the big picture.
